Portus was founded in December of 2005 by Carolyn Winslow. Carolyn received her BFA in photography from the Rochester Institute of Technology in New York. RIT gave Carolyn the conventional photography background that she was able to apply to digital photography.

Carolyn's work as a retoucher/compositor has earned her several prestigious awards including an award of excellence from Communication Arts, 1st place in PDN Digital Awards Editorial and a PDN Digital Imaging award. Her work has been featured in such publications as American Photography and Communication Arts. She has been chosen as a Who's Who for Lüerzer's Archive. Carolyn also taught Digital Imaging/compositing in the Photography Department at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA 2007-2009.

As Senior Digital Artist of Portus Imaging, Carolyn oversees a handpicked, versatile team of retouchers that have years of illustration, photographic and pre-press experience.

Portus Imaging's Studio Manager, Marisa Osollo Montellano, calls upon 20 years of experience in the industry. From 1995 to 2004, Marisa worked as a customer service supervisor at BowHaus, Inc. From 2005-2008 she worked as a studio manager for a beauty and fashion photographer, and an archivist at a syndication agency. On the Portus team since 2007, she manages projects, and handles daily operations.

I originally hail from Michigan. I currently live in Los Feliz with my man, our daughter and Sammy the Shiba Inu. I truely enjoy working on beautiful images, my job keeps me on my toes and I get to collaborate with some amazingly creative and talented people. I love diversity and challenges.

Random facts: Adam West and I share a birthday, I live in Julie Newmar's childhood home, I am allergic to cats, I am not on Instagram, I like to zipline, I collect rocks, I will keep bees when I retire.

I was born and raised in northeast Los Angeles (What up Eagle Rock!). I collect records, pens, notebooks, and Polaroid equipment.  I am analytical by nature, and a people pleaser. I am organized in an undiagnosed OCD kind of way. I am lucky to have the one job that embraces and even encourages all my neurosis.

Random facts: Random facts: I want to start a zine. I met my husband in 7th grade, and married him 20 years later. I will forever be an independent woman of the 90’s.
