All About : Portus Imaging
Portus Imaging was founded in January of 2006 by Carolyn Winslow. Carolyn received her BFA in photography from the Rochester Institute of Technology in 1995. Since then she has honed her photo compositing and retouching skills on complex and demanding projects for national and worldwide advertising campaigns. In 2005, she co-founded Mode Imaging with Glen Wexler, where she acted as Vice President and Senior Digital Artist. From 1996 to 2004, Carolyn worked as a Digital Producer and Digital Artist at Glen Wexler Studio. In 1995, Carolyn retouched at Atomic in Los Angeles, where she specialized in celebrity and beauty imaging.
Carolyn's work has earned her several prestigious awards including 1st place PDN Digital Awards Editorial and a PDN Digital Imaging award. Her work has been featured in such publications as American Photography and Communication Arts. She is currently an instructor of Digital Imaging in the Photography Department at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA.
As Chief Digital Artist of Portus Imaging, Carolyn oversees a handpicked, versatile team of retouchers that have years of illustration, photographic and pre-press experience.
Portus Imaging's Studio Manager, Marisa Osollo, calls upon 14 years of experience in the industry. From 1995 to 2004, Marisa worked as a customer service supervisor at BowHaus, Inc. In 2005-2007 she worked as a studio manager for a beauty and fashion photographer and an archivist at Icon International. Her experience with different aspects of the business make her capable of dealing with the various needs of Portus Imaging's diverse clientele.
